1. Can I do my Bachelor/Master thesis in your lab?

Applications from Bachelor and Master students are welcome at any time. A minimum of 3 months should be planned for the practical phase of the work. You will receive hands-on training in experimental design and methods needed to answer a specific research question in the field of cancer biology. For your final thesis, you will be supported in structured scientific writing and statistical analysis. In addition, we are aiming for a publication that includes the data from your thesis and leads to an authorship. 

Please ask by email for an open thesis project, include your field of study, previous laboratory experience, and desired start date. We are looking forward to hearing from you and will get back to you soon.

2. Can I do my MD thesis in your lab?

We welcome applications for a MD thesis in the field of preclinical oncology research at any time. For your thesis, you will be supported in the laboratory, in structured academic writing and in statistical analysis. In addition, we aim for a publication that includes the data of your MD thesis and leads to an authorship. Please ask by email for an open thesis project, include your field of study, previous laboratory experience, and desired start date. 3. I want to do a PhD. Can I come to your lab?

We are hiring PhD students based on our job announcements. Please see our News Blog for current vacancies and use the official channels to apply. If you have a PhD stipend and are looking for a host laboratory, please use the Contact Us page to ask about laboratory spaces, available supervision and mention your desired start date. 

The PhD will take at least 3 years and should be completed with a first author publication. We focus on translational cancer research, so in vivo methods will be one of the main tasks during your PhD project. You will receive a comprehensive introduction and intensive training for experimental setup, practical skills and documentation requirements. Of course, you will receive hands-on training in experimental design and required methods in the lab. In addition, you will be supported in structured scientific writing and statistical analysis. 4. I want to do a Post-Doc. Can I come to your lab?

We are hiring Post-Docs based on our job announcements. Please see our News Blog for current vacancies and use the official channels to apply. If you have a Post-Doc stipend and are looking for a host laboratory, please use the Contact Us page to ask about laboratory spaces, available supervision and mention your desired start date. 6. Do you host international students for fellowships/internships?

7. What about part-time, home office and working hours?

Part-time is always possible and we also support job sharing and scheduled home office. Working hours are flexible and meetings are conducted at family-friendly times. On weekends we adhere to an emergency schedule, since we perform in vivo studies.
